"You can't be to careful"

That page we all wonder about...

My name is David Pennington and I am a 21 year old Christian Web Designer that finds pleasure in making things that help people. I think that if God was able to give me all that I have - I should be able to give something back.

I was born somewhere you don't need to know and I now live in a different place. I don't have a job in the web design realm - I just do this for fun. (Hey, it beats collecting stamps)

I remember that (back in that place I was born) I first took a class in HTML (2.0?) when I was only 13. A College offered the course online and having nothing to do but play Mario 64 I wanted to try more "computer" type stuff. Needless to say, with only basic HTML tags covered in the course I easily scored a 100% on every lesson. However, I never got the whole FTP/Web Host/Domain thing - so my sites remained on my computer where the bright green and blue colors couldn't hurt anyone.

Fast forward to my first semester in college where I had almost forgotten what HTML was. I had just started a class in C++ and was hoping to one day make video games. However, as God would have it, I met a geek (a little younger - but better looking) than me named Rick who was just picking up C two. And yes, that last word is spelled right.

Rick opened my eyes to what FTP meant, and how you could actually buy a domain and upload anything you wanted onto it! Like even monkey........uh...we'll, that was in the past. So after learning some basics and getting back on the road to HTML I learned that Rick was a PHP programmer. He showed me that I could use PHP to include files so that I didn't have to re-type the Nav bar on every page! Needless to say, even with my simple 12 page site I was sold.

So here we are today and I now know more than most people my blond, Spanish brother. At least I think I do. I drive a white Buick older than most people reading this a Ford van truck that I use to haul hay and people (sometimes together). I eat food. I play Soccer and Ultimate Frisbee 3 times a week. I like to try learn new things. I can wave-dash in Melee. I Built all 5-8 PC's in our house (I don't know how many we have for sure).

I own the following sites:

Note: Unlike most people who write about pages - David Pennington doesn't talk in the third person. Why? Well because he states that it is "freaky sounding".

Colophon

This site is powered by monkeys, and not just the tree-climbing kind. No, we also have code and ninja monkeys working around the clock to keep things running here. Our core monkey team type away on their ergonomic keyboards all day so that I will have content to post here. After all, being an American I'm not smart enough to do that kind of stuff myself. In exchange I let them use my SS and Driver's licence to do whatever it is they do on the weekends. Sadly, Because of the Patriot Act (and a past affiliation with "terrorist monkeys") they were denied their own application.

As a member CodeXplorer I had little trouble getting these monkeys to help out with finding some special cows. With the cattle-shaking invention of "MooTools" my monkeys now come with free milk. Which you might notice - as the occasional spill causes stuff around here to disappear every now-and-then. If you are using a lactose intolerant browser, you will find that our Monkeys will downgrade the presentation of this site so you don't have to deal with Mootools.

In addition, my monkeys use XFN (Xtra Fun Names) to tag content and links to cool sites. Because plain links just aren't as cool.

This site as been tested using PC (Pepsi Cola) and some cheesy Mac with both Firewolfs and India Exporter. (There was another browser I wanted to try also - but my friend took it on his trip to Africa...)

We also make it a priority to test portable phones, so if you have extra minutes please send us your phone and we promise to test it with this site - and whatever else your remaining minutes allow. Around here, disability is very important in the design process and we want to make sure our site is fully disabled to you.

Unfortunately, our Monkeys never made it very far in arithmetic. So they chose a simple host that they could understand - 1 + 1.com 1and1.com for the primary server and a drunk/dismased/dreamlike host for our other one. At any point in time this site is using one or the other (or something else).

Enter Dreamhost.com Promo "XEONCROSS" for $50 off hosting and 2 Free domains!
.

If you ever find this site has blown up or something please try the following steps as outlined by our tech department.

  1. Declare jihad against <tables>
  2. Refresh your browser
  3. Feed the Monkeys
  4. Restart Windows
  5. If you are on a mac - restart someone else's windows
  6. Bribe the Monkeys
  7. Send hate mail
  8. Stop wasting my bandwidth with your browser.

If all else fails, swam my (1 + 1 = 2) hosts with zerglings.

hmm.... it seems I have run out of stuff to say - or rather you ran out of stuff to read...

Add Your Insight

* Well, it's not that I really sell them - it's just that my monkeys use them to signup for banana fashion newsletters. If you don't like bannanas - just do like everyone else and leave a fake one! Other than that, your email will not be displayed. Pinky-Promise!

Please keep your comments clean and helpful. We are using gravatars. You can use obvious HTML (<i>,<u>,<b>,<em>, and <a herf>) Wrap Code with <code> and </code> (PHP needs the opening an closing tags too!). No substitutions, extensions, or refunds. I make the rules. Void where IE is used. Cash not accepted.
